Bahia Asuncion Trip Update #1

Well we're finally settled into our place in Bahia Asuncion. We drove down on June 14th with no real issues. We stopped for gas at El Rosario and I decided to use the bathrooms. They are really nice and I commend Antonio. The only problem I noticed is I could not unlock the bathroom stall. After fidgeting with it for a few moments, the surely guy that used to works the pumps came to my rescue. He seemed to know about the door and easily opened it. As I was washing my hands, me made a point to put his tip styrofoam cup in front of me. I declined. We got food at Las Pasaditas in just across from La Mission and had another good meal.
Of final note on the trip down, we were asked for our tourist permits at GN...first time in probably 4 years.

We've been busy with a few projects on the casita....a laundry room addition, porch/hammock area, and a wall to enclose the back area and protect from the wind. There are still a few minor projects to complete...stucco, some tile work, and if money holds out, I'll figure something else out.

The weather has been perfect with temps in the low 80s although the breeze makes it even more enjoyable. After my wife and I go for a long morning run, we round up the kids and explore the nearby beaches. Each has so much to offer. Our kids also collect seashells to take back to their friends at school for art projects. We also have a rock garden started at our casita here.

We've enjoyed participating at the graduations at the kinder and primary schools and exploring new roads. We also enjoy getting out for long walks at night to say hi friends and experience the town.

All in all a good trip. We have a few more weeks to go but wanted to share some pics now. http://tinyurl.com/7fnz9g6

Enjoy!

Zac

I gotta tell ya Boy...one of the coolest expat things I've seen, is you and your little tyke Gabriel out for a run side by side...I was so bummed it all happened so fast I couldn't snap a photo of that..it was precious and made me very proud to know you..and your family. You are a great pappa. Your place is looking just fantastic and it's good to have you back in town...love the photos of course.

Thanks for the kind words Shari. It's such a wonderful experience here with kids. They open so many opportunities for us and are a constant reminder of what life is all about. Stop by anytime....

Zac and Tracy,

Your life IS good! I couldn't help but smile through your entire post and even more so as I looked through your photos. You two are giving your children memories that will sustain them through their adult lives. You guys are truly blessed.

As always,
