Not Baja - Death Valley upcoming

If you are interested in a short trip to the southern end of Death Valley - some 4x4 - let me know.

Leaving the high desert area around 7:00 or 8:00 a.m. on Friday September 14 returning home via Highway 395 on Sunday the 16th so we won't have to fight the Las Vegas traffic.

Might be warm, might be nice - we won't be in the hottest part of the valley. Two nights remote camping.

David, the "race" - not quite as hot as in past years, something like 118 the first day - second day near Owens Lake it probably wasn't over 112 -

Then the woman I was helping, after completing the 135 miles, ran back to Badwater, where she turned around and returned to Whitney Portal - 405 miles in 13 days of running.

Some folks are just tough! ...and a little bit crazy.

Where we going? Tom, my neighbor has never been to DV and we only have a short time. He is now completing a home built off-road trailer he wants to test before the Baja 1000 trip so we will be doing Sperry Wash, China Ranch, Saratoga Springs, Shoshone, west side road to Mengel Pass, out through Ballarat, Trona and home.

I thought this would put the trailer/hitch to a bit of a test.

Wanna go? We might make your coming along dependent of whether or not Phil can come along, mmmmgood.

Thanks John I'll pass on this one due to other commitments in Sept. I was thinking when the weather is a little cooler (Oct or Nov) I want to do the Saline Rd loop around thru Racetrack Valley and Hidden Valley.

Having Phil along has it's culinary benefits.
