It's been around a long time in the off road racing world. I think the owner may have died recently.

Don Thiel, our local Modesto Datsun dealer way back when raced mini-trucks in Baja and collected Rolls on the side
He finished second in the minis in the 1972 1000.
The next race to La Paz we trailered his truck and ours to Ensenada and he drove a Rolls down to Baja.
He broke an axle on his race truck on the starting ramp, went back to the motel, loaded up some strange locals and they set sail for La Paz in the Rolls.
(This story would be an entire chapter if I ever write my book)
Anyway, he had a Rolls that had burned and he was working on making it into a passenger class race car, but alas he had too many late night encounters with the CHP and ended up spending more time in the cross bar hotel than at his dealership.
When he lost the business he had more than 20 Rolls in storage- not sure what ever happened to that collection, but none ever returned to Mexico.
As I say, this is at least a whole chapter about Rolls Royce adventures in Baja.

I have to go back.. but I have some images from when the car originally raced Baja in the late 80's...
