Just when you think Baja might escape a hurricane this year....

As October 1st pretty much kills the hurricane season, this guy might make it in time to cause a fuss somewhere on Baja-

Always an optimist...

How about five days of soft, continuous rain over much of the peninsula. Soaking rain. The kind that goes down deep and turns the desert into a flower garden...

Update from the National Hurricane Center

SHOWER ACTIVITY REMAINS MINIMAL IN ASSOCIATION WITH A BROAD AREA OF
LOW PRESSURE LOCATED A FEW HUNDRED MILES SOUTH OF ACAPULCO MEXICO.
HOWEVER...ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS ARE FORECAST TO BE CONDUCIVE FOR
SLOW DEVELOPMENT OF THIS DISTURBANCE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. THIS
SYSTEM HAS A MEDIUM CHANCE...30 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A TROPICAL
CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS AS IT MOVES GENERALLY WESTWARD AT
5 TO 10 MPH.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.

2006 Hurricane season

In 2006 on our way to Los Barriles we encountered rain bands from Hurricane Paul this was on or around Oct 24th 25th. Major flooding in Loreto. So no offense but Oct. 1 does not put us out of the woods.
Here is the archive of that year, activity into November

La Paz hurricane center (Eebmike.com) calls for a 50% chance this turning into a hurricane. Keep an eye on the GFDL prediction, usually the most accurate.
