Sad day in Mulege - RIP

Bart, owner and operator of Barts Jungle was killed today in a car accident. Details are not known, except he was with a friend who suffered sever injuries, but is expected to pull thru. Bart was pulling on to the highway when a bus struck his vehicle.

Bart was a Mulege Icon who gave many a helping hand. He will be missed by all.

RIP brother.

The community is stunned, saddened with the loss of a friend, a friend to everyone.

Life is fleeting, like a cloud.
Live it well, dear friends.
Live well.

With great affection and respect, Mulegena

a very sad day in mulege

oh boy...how does one express a loss like this...i really don't think there is a way to truly verbalize how a person or persons feels..''

today in mulege we lost one of our icons...really...he was...our dear friend, bartolo, the giant of a personality that was the face of jungle jims, junglas, the jungle, and "the jim" , was killed today in a horrific accident just south of town....we are all in shock...i think the entire community still can't understand why this had to happen....it did.......bart was a very, very special individual...we all have our stories of bart and in time they will all come out as we can share them without the tears...we loved you, bartolo, we did.

Shocking news... RIP Bart! He always treated us like he knew us all of his life.

Some things in this world are just plain wrong... and when one is taken from us before his or her time, it just stinks! Vaya Con Dios... we never met, but I can tell from your posts, he was a good one!

i go the word yesterday from Marv and Cathy.
so sad - i hadn't been there since 2010 but he was always a smiling guy - even after so many times he had to rebuild after all those floods.
i pray for Lupe and his sons. RIP, Bart!

All so shockingly fast, everyone is unnerved.

A large, very sedate group all day today in the Jungle with a full Mass at 3 pm, also in the Jungle.

A slow procession into town with a touchingly simple and quiet burial in the panteon in the late afternoon.

It is a loving family and loving family of friends, this little town.
I'm hopeful with time, healing will settle in.
