big surf in San Diego

The overhead surf had been making the news lately, so we thought a trip down to check it out was in order. As I was standing on the pier the waves were shaking the pier as they passed under me.

Sunday 12/2/12 Ocean Beach

(was looking for you Woody)

too many bouys, er obstacles in the water NOB. when the shaun dawg starts foaming at the mouth and letting everyone know a week in advance and the news copters start hovering i look for something else to do. BTW, a guy found a board on the rocks at san clemente island yesterday. not too dinged up either. i guess someone lost it and it was to sketchy to try to swim after it so he swam back to the boat!

S.C. island has a couple of waves on it when the swell is good. Have made the ride a few times. /\ point can get scary. If the ride wasn't so long it would be more poplar.
