Mood: Depends on which way the wind is blowing

Sailboat Stranded off Our Beach

We looked out the window and saw a small (maybe 25 foot, but I am lousy at guessing size) lying stranded on the rocky beach below our house.

We called out to find out if anyone was needing help, no answer.

We called the Rosarito emergency number - 060 and the Englsh speaking operator said that they already were responding.

Right now, we have many police units with the Christmas lights lit up outside.

We have some nasty winds here in San Diego. I hope everyone is alright.

Boat Still There This Morning

Except it is a pile of junk - all broken up by the waves and the rocks.

No sign of any crew. Some pangas investigated in the late night and they may have gone aboard and retrieved the electronics.

In most of the world, that is called stealing, not retrieving.

Actually, No, This is a Legal Action

Under Marine Salvage laws.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_salvage

The boat is completely gone - taken apart by locals who can handle the rough water we have had all week.
