little kids want surf wetsuits in La Bocana

putting this out there for any surfers:

a youngster named Eduardo who is in my middle school English class is looking to get a smallsized wetsuit and the ones I have are too big.

He is a very slender but tall 12 year old who probably would wear a size 10 ???? He asked for a full body suit.

If anyone has a donation, it can be dropped off at the restaurant called ARMIDA'S at the exit to punta abreojos.

January is one of the only months we have waves in la Bocana and they are BIG right now. Not sure how surfable, but they are quite big.

I have four little guy's wetsuits (full body and 3/4). Size ten is in there too.

BUT: I cannot get those to you in Baja. If any Nomad is passing through Sacramento Ca............they can stop by the farm to pick them up and deliver. We are 6 miles from the Sacramento International Airport....and 4 mile off Interstate 5

I think he will absolutely be thrilled if we can make this happen.

:bounce::bounce:

edited to add: yesterday he came by the house no less than 4 times. first he tried on the size 12 wetsuit hoping it would shrink. then he tried on the size 14 top part. then he asked if he could send someone over for the bigger full body suit. and lastly he asked WHEN "his "suit might arrive. All I can say is:

1. He is a type A personality and will go far in this world
2. If he comes over 4 times today, Les might lose it.

and while we are at it - these kids always need wax, which is a great prize for doing great at school .....

and get this: he DROVE himself over. I about fell out of my chair.

I will go out to the storage tomorrow, and pull them out. Will confirm the size(s) HERE before noon. .....but am very sure I got what the child needs. If so...I'll be sending down a few other suits that are smaller.....if you wish.

Regards.

mcfez, if you have and are willing to send a couple small sized suits around size 10(that was his suggestion even though he is age 12)- he is tallish and extremely thin - we can only hope that one will fit him. I asked him to check his pants size and I guess this is where he got the size 10.

bajaboy - I was thinking about this last night too.... I am not sure what to have him do to merit the suit ...

maybe do a clean up project with me on a Saturday morning

or maybe contribute 200 pesos to the teen college fund

or ???? I am open to suggestions.

Not questioning your intent Blanca but feel the kid should "earn" it one way or another.

I have two suits / full body / like new condition. I'll send both down there.

As far as the child "earning" these.........
Have him do NOTHING except to learn that there are good folks in this world that are willing to help. That's a lesson worth millions to him, someday.

Please make all arrangements with onemoreplease.......my address is in your U2. Google map will give easy directions to here.

earning it gives it more value than just a hand out...Stan had great success with the kids here who cleaned up the beach in exchange for fishing gear...that way, it raises their consciousness too about throwing garbage around.

...although I understand what McFez is getting at and it's a lovely gesture and lesson...but the downside of giving stuff away is that it may cause resentment from other kids who didnt get something.

Blanca/McFez; we'll be coming through in early Feb. I know it's a long wait, but if everything else fails we're here as a back-up to the back-up.
