Baja plates observed

Saw this Tacoma in the Rancho Bernardo area of San Diego last Saturday. What Baja plates do you have on your vehicle, or are interesting ones you've seen on someone else's?

The year was 1980, and California just went from 6 to 7 numbers/letters on their plates... It was my CB handle... "breaker for the Baja"...

LOL, I never heard that term from Canadians until long after I had that license plate. In 'my time' ('70's), "The Baja" was short for "The Baja 1000/ 500/ Race, Peninsula, etc."

Couldn't quite get the correct spelling but you get it, you get it right? Have had this plate on three trucks since '99.

Yes, the Subaru 4WD it was attached to stayed with my ex... when she sold the wagon years later, she gave me the plates... I have one of the blue ones that I originally got in 1980... switched to the white ones in '87 to look better on the new grey wagon.

That's a good one, David!

However, it is short for "BAJA RIDE"
The DMV gave me some hassles even after I explained it to them.
They originally thought it was an "offensive" connotation.
