I am soooo tired of these cold winds. The YT have finally shown up in both quantity and quality but it just isn't worth taking the beating required to go get them.

Speaking of wind, got woken up by a screetching on my phone at 5:55. National weather service blizzard alert here in CO. Think I'll pull some cabrilla from the freezer and make tacos!

Wind report from the Northern 7 Sisters last week: Blowing 30 knots off shore. Unbearable. Tents flying everywhere.

Looks great for windsurfing, though. ;D

Here's another link, mostly East Cape local, but also has an overall analysis:

WIND TRIVIA.

How windy is it?

Still my favorite..."It's so windy, my dog has to back up to bark."

Second favorite...old time ranching joke we tried as kids, but never got away with our fathers: "Hey, it's too windy to haul rocks!"

Third favorite ... from Baja Februarys long ago: "Don't let the wind spoil your vacation." So, we abandoned the beach...and discovered inland fun.

Actual fact:

During a wild April storm in 1934, a wind gust of 231 miles per hour (372 kilometers per hour) pushed across the summit of Mount Washington. This wind speed still stands as the all-time surface wind speed observed by man record.

it was a sweet day today with only 10 knots of wind...and warming up too...yeah baby. I got some gardening in finally. The forecasts have been pretty weird...some sites saying 20-25 knots and others 10-15 etc...i find buoy weather to be the most accurate windwise for here anyway.

I also jump around from site to site and they all seem to very a little to a lot at times. I've found for my area that bouy weather is a little better during the summer and Iwindsurf or sailflow during the rest of the year. We've had a 31mph gust so far today and averaging around 16.

Here's a nice, graphical website that I find as accurate as any, that gives forecasts out a week. Appears to run a computer cycle every three hours. Has dynamic display that you can pause when you want. Or, just go step by step.

This link is centered on the Sea of Cortez from about BOLA/Kino down to about Punta Pulpito. Easy to expand to the areas you want. Note the legend tab on the right margin of the screen.
