.......................................................................

Cultural Preservation Hike - Sat Mar 2 or Sun Mar 3............Join Anibal Lopez on a hiking expedition to see indigenous pictographs. Through a federal permit, Anibal has been photo documenting indigenous pictographs for over 5 years in the Cape Region of Baja California Sur, México. Your participation in these expeditions will help raise funds for his project to publish a photo journal for cultural and academic purposes. The book will help raise awareness to the cultural importance of preserving these little known archaeological sites. Without protection, these sites are currently vulnerable to graffiti, weathering, and vandalism.

A $75 donation is requested to attend the expeditions. The expedition will include water, a complementary sampling of regional products, and ground transportation from La Ventana. The sites are a 35-45 minutes drive away and a 1+ hour hike. Since these sites are protected under federal law, and not officially open to the public, photos and direct collection is not allowed of the pictographs or any artifacts found during the expedition. These expeditions are a part of Proyecto ProFaunaBaja, which is a society of naturalists and biologists dedicated to the ecological and cultural conservation in the region. Thanks for your support and participation in this important cultural project! Contact Anibal or Stephanie by phone: 612.131.6233/ 612.150.6667 or by email: ProFaunaBaja@gmail.com. Saludos, Lic. Stephanie Rousso, Bióloga de Vida Silvestre, www.ProFaunaBaja.org

..ya,,but with........''photos and direct collection is not allowed of the pictographs or any artifacts found during the expedition.''.....one will have to wait for ''his project to publish a photo journal for cultural and academic purposes'',,because ''these sites are protected under federal law, and not officially open to the public''.

.......hard to be a tourist without taking snaps!!:wow:
