San Carlos Mx
I wasn't sure what section to put this in so hope this is correct. I would like to buy a beach lot or small house on Cochorit Beach which is in
Empalme (Sonora) Mexico. Unfortunately I'm not finding any websites similar to BajaNomad that cover that area of mainland Mexico. Any ideas on
websites or possibly an email for someone that might live in that area? Ron

Ron, you-know-who's board is the only one, really. There is another board but it gets maybe a dozen posts per week. Sometimes days go by without it
getting any. It has become the more fishing oriented board, here. Here is the link to the "recent posts" tab.

However, I doubt there are many who only read the above board and dont read the Viva board. But, maybe.
You do realize how windy that beach is, dont you, especially compared to Burro? Nothing stopping the wind from any direction; winter or summer.
I think the only way to find out what's available is to walk the area on a busy weekend when everyone's there.

I definitely agree with hook. However, San Carlos does have one of the best looking beaches in northern Mexico.
Plus they sell some of the best souvenirs in all of Mexico.

Thanks Hook and Udo- I actually posted on the San Carlos website a couple of months ago but so far no luck. I understand the wind issue but I want a
place on the beach ( for a couple of months at a time) that is closer to our home in Colorado.

Why not Bahia Keno? Closer to the border and a great beach. Can be windy sometimes.

Bahia KINO (named after the Jesuit missionary/explorer and first to try and build a mission in (Baja) California.

We didn't stop at Bahia Kino but I'm told it is a little touristy?? We got spoiled living at Playa Burro which is a quiet little beach a few miles
from town. However. certainly would be interested in looking at something in areas surrounding Playa Cochorit including Bahia Kino. Only requirement
is that the location is on the beach and looking for a shack or lot and not a nice house. Thanks for mentioning Bahia Kino.

Drive south and turn towards the coast at Navajoa. Go through Huatabampo to Huatabampito at the beach. Off the beaten path it has one restaurant, one
motel, one small RV park some fairly nice houses and a couple of shacks. The road ends here.
Nearby is the small fishing village Yavaros.

Thanks Marc- looks exactly what we are looking for. Looks like the turn-off is just south of Navojoa. Past the free zone so I'll need a vehicle permit
which can be a blessing. Thanks again-Ron

Kino is LESS touristy than San Carlos, IMO. Very few mansions, unlike San Carlos. Less amenities close by.

It's in Sonora so I don't think you need the vehicle permit??

Thanks. I checked and you do need a Sonora only vehicle permit but it looks like it is fairly convenient to get the permit just south of Guaymas.
Marc, this was a great lead. I have made contact with a person that has a beautiful beach front house for sale- Also a beach front lot with utilities
in place. Prices similar to the Mulege area and it is a much shorter trip from our home in Colorado on much better roads. The hotel and rv campground
that you mentioned is El Mirador. I have to be in the Seattle area until the latter part of June but will be heading to Huatabampito shortly
thereafter. Thanks again.
