Mexican Navy checking something

On tuesday 4/16 fishing partner and I decided to take boat out and fish infront of campo (KM33.5) and as we were launching boat a navy cutter came from south and was going from boat to boat and were checking something. I think it was prangas they were checking but I'n not sure, not having valid fishing licenses decided not to chance it and stayed in. Anyone have any idea whats up?

Maybe they were enforcing the "you need to have a valid fishing license" law.

WTF??????......why would you knowingly break the law?????

Not to jump on a bandwagon, but would you fish without a licence in the USA?

What would you think if a legal Mexican National fishing in the United Staes was fishing without a fishing licence, would that be OK?

Most rules in Mexico are hard to follow but the fishing licence is black and white.

Let me count the ways. Mota, machine guns, grenades, pressure cookers, crystal meth, illegal abalone or fish, pressure cookers, illegal shrimp or oysters, fishing licenses, stolen outboards, pressure cookers, known criminals, Chechnyans, pressure cookers.

Just fyi, this is between San Felipe and Puertecitos. Navy is rare to see in these shallow waters, except by helicopter.

As stated in the original post, they were likely checking the pangas. Last Oct pangas were stolen from the beach in Muertos, the engines stripped from them, then the pangas set adrift. The thieves were caught and it was learned they were from Sinaloa. Unfortunately that doesn't help the panguero whose sole means of support was taken from him. The pangueros in Muertos now pull their boats each night and take them home. Then again, just last month, 6 pangas were taken right from the malecon in La Paz. I don't believe the thieves have been caught yet. I am happy to hear the Navy is actively pursuing thieves and poachers.

Wish the Sinaloa crowd would steal pangas out of Punta Lobos -- where the A$$HOLES like to fish by putting out nets then banging on their boats while speeding in circles. I'd help them do it.

"....... not having valid fishing licenses"

Sounds like keyboard ninja warriors are occupying the BN today. The magic word was valid . Sometimes all cannot be perfect.....in this perfect world :-) Did anyone think that perhaps his license expired recently? Getting a license in San Felipe is next to imposable. Maybe he just left his Mexican fishing license at his state side home. Who knows?

The Military uses Clara's (Puertecitos) boat ramp often for official business but mostly for maneuver practices.
