Back in the water.....
After eight long months with no diving (the longest I've gone since I was certified in 1980) I got back in the water last week for three dives in
Morro Bay. Can't describe how good it felt, and I even ran into a few old friends:
Rafting otter near the Rock:
Blue heron fishing near the North T-Pier
Triopha catalinae:
Polycera hedgpethi
Fringehead in bottle:
carpe diem!

Can't keep a good man down. Well....maybe with a weight belt.
Welcome back, Ken. We missed you.

The bottled fringeheads are always my favorites. I'm glad you're getting wet again, Ken!

Stunning images again... always enjoy your stuff Ken! Glad you got wet after your long 8-month break.
The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.

I had an uncle that actually drank sea water every day. Claimed it was good for him. He'd drive down from Hollywood to Long Beach with his bottles
once a month. We all thought he was nuts.

Theory is the Jamestown Colonists drank too much salt from the delta of the James River and that and local famine wiped them out. Really good on the
outside, not so much on the inside.

And to the GI system. It's one of natures very fast and efficient laxatives.
Don't drink too much while you're in a wet suit.

Sort of reminds me of how the elder Karamazov went about curing his cold
- with "internal and external applications of alcohol".
