Full Moon in Borrego, well almost

We drove out to Borrego last night in hopes of shooting the rising full moon. It wasn't meant to be. A combination of low clouds on the horizon and drifting smoke from a fire in northern Baja did us in. In spite on 105 degrees at 7:30 pm we stuck around to get some sunset shots at least. We picked Canyon sin Nombre along S2 not far from Ocotillo.

This is the road off of S2 to the viewpoint of Canyon sin Nombre

here's the view

We will try again in September.

Thanks, I think the desert and it's many colors are amazing when the sun is coming up and going down.

Ocotillo has long been my favorite cactus. Your image shows why.

Awesome pics! I've been wanting to get out there but the summer's been a scorcher and still haven't fixed the AC in my truck (no real motivation since I'm in the coastal fog belt in SoCal).

Thanks Russ, but truth is I took the Nikon D7K as I wanted to use the telephoto for moon shot.
