Loreto Bay

I just got a brochure in the mail from Loreto Bay and they want to send me a DVD . They are based out of Scottsdale a few miles from my house . I just wonder how the heck they got my name and address . My only guess is they are getting Info from the Hotels and resorts all over Baja. Unbelievable ,
Has anyone else received this ? It says Loreto Bay live fully , tread lightly .

I got one........and threw it in the trash. It's pretty lame what they plan to make of Loreto. It'll be Cabo San Lucas in 10 years if they have their way.

Loreto Bay

OLDFIZZYWIG. Since you are close to Scottsdale, take a drive over and inspect their office quarters and sales room. Nothing hi pressure, but was worth our visit last year. Interesting concept, and not understood by most of those who have not "visited" and gotten first hand the data. Too much rumor from those who think they are going to destroy Loreto. I'm in Cabo as I write this, and enjoying the heck out the place for two weeks. Great Resort that Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort. Huge development of Mexican workers homes north of town. Houses almost beyond your vision. If it weren't for tourists, where would they be working?????? So expansion in development is prividing thousands of jobs for these folks. Hurray for tourism here in southern Baja.

As long as they have water treatment for raw sewage , enough water and are sensitive to the environment I really don't have a problem with it . For me being squeezed in one of these communes would never work .

Flaming remarks?
These are flaming, ignorant remarks:
"So expansion in development is prividing thousands of jobs for these folks." and
"trickle down economics does work."
To what end? What affect on the environment and to the lives of the Baja citizens? Drugs, prostitution, time share hawkers, crime, high prices, rationed water, and the real Baja in memory only is the unequivocal reality. SUV's on the beach trampling turtles; estuaries being dug up; magestic mountain views cluttered with private homes. Yeah - what a wonderful world is being created. The next time either one of you spout any more of your drivel, it better be founded on the genuine viewpoint of the majority of the Mexican Cabo and Loreto citizens - not an assumption of yours based on a construction worker from the mainland. If you'd do the slightest bit of research, you would learn of the devastation and false promises of Cancun - the same scenario at Cabo, and the beginning of the destruction of Loreto. But hey, as long as there's a golf course and a swimming pool and a bar - who cares?

Job Creation ? Two million plus Mexicans coming over the border every year to find work in the U. S. . There must be a better plan than this .

Do a search under Loreto Bay and you will find volumes of our discussions regarding this project, and the many other like it.
I spoke my mind and most everyone on here knows my feelings about it. I don't personally feel a need to repeat myself.
But, you should check out what has already been dealt with and then maybe we can come up with some new approach to whipping those that don't agree into submission.

But I doubt it! And see Mike, I'm not the only one:lol::lol::lol:

Ban the Golf Courses

While sewage treatment is well organized and can be integrated into the eco-system minimizing impact,
it is those Golf Courses that use unbridled amounts of fertilizers and pesticides which pollute the environment.

Development

Come on guys. Ever wonder where you'd be today if your parents hadn't moved to California in the early days to work to provide food on your table, and a roof over your house?? How come your not supporting zero growth in southern California, rather than running south every chance you get? And where were you 20-30-40 years ago when southern California was growing like crazy? People move to where ever they see an opportunity to improve themselves. i.e. Mexican movement to southern states. Any of you read the history of the movement of the 20's in the u.s.? Bet some of you are making a living from southern California's present growth. Or are you living on welfare checks & cheese bricks instead?

That has absolutely no relevancy to what the issues are in Baja California.
