Compelled to start new thread after reading your post re: "missing" person Gary Patton ..
God bless you - and any 'higher power' you believe in or acknowledge - for your compassion and the generous time spent preparing that email AND the
action in making the phone call to provide info and suggestions to the Gary Patton family ..
I want to say I know for certain there are many others that think/say thank you and thank God there are people like you who have incredible skills
(natural and learned) and that don't run away, close the door, look the other way, ignore cries for help etc etc etc.
OK off the soapbox .. LG

I was thinking the exact same thing. I just finished reading his post and said to Dern that I want Lizard Lips on my side if I ever needed help.
Thank you Lizard Lips. I think that the information you gave should be made into a sticky for future reference.

Sometimes the message is lost on the receiver. You are offering great incite and connections. They have no idea the names that open doors you offered.

Lips
I met lips about 20 years ago when I was a Detective Sergeant with the Nevada Department of Public Safety, and specifically working as the INTERPOL
State Liaison for Nevada.
I received an assignment through the office of a US Senator from Nevada. The assignment was there were two men from Nevada who had gone missing on a
fishing trip to Baja. I was to use all resources available, pull out the stops and find them.
I met with Lips a couple of times in Ensenada, listened to his suggestions and then set out on my assignment.
We plastered flyers (in color and in Spanish/English) all over Baja....at every federal, state and municipal office, every tow yard, every propane and
water driver, every PEMEX and every military checkpoint......and gathered photos (and stories).
Unfortunately, the story did not have a happy ending. The flyers helped to locate the vehicle and suspects were taken into custody.
If you would like a more in depth account, please contact me, I would be glad to fill in the details.
Let me say that Lips was the consummate professional, worked with the missing men's family and most importantly, me. He was never overbearing and his
advice was spot on. Also his knowledge of Baja/Mexico and his personal contacts proved invaluable.
Lips and I have remained in contact since that event and I can say that I could not have a better friend in Baja as Lips
I am not trying to solicit business for any one, but I suggest if you ever have a need in Baja for investigative work or assistance, please contact
Lips.

Living in central baja in a more remote area, we are occasionally asked to help locate someone missing. I agree that Lizard Lips provided very
valuable information and I thank him for that too.
Perhaps a more concise list of WHAT TO DO in the case of missing persons would be valuable here a a sticky as others suggested....maybe someone here
might take that task on.

I met Lizard Lips a dozen years ago when he and his wife attended Viva Baja 3... In person and via emails and posts here, he has always been an
outstanding person and always went the extra mile (kilometer?) to assist others and help. There is nobody better to have on your team than Dan, the
lizard with lips!

For starters, the copy of his post where he gave all the good ideas could be broken down into bullet points of ideas ---- all good ideas --- and
Dennis, many of them would work for our fur friends also.

Of course they would, but they have to be written in Poochese, as above, so they understand it.

Dang, it's still summer and as I look out the window Baja hasn't frozen over...
nonetheless I'm gobsmacked!
Finally, I agree with something Elinvestigator says!!
