First Fire of the Season?
I was trying to capture the lineup of cars southbound at the 'Nada tool booth due to the bicycle race. Unfortunately, this fire has been happening
since a little after noon. It is getting stronger.
Careful out there and hope we get through the season with minimal fire damage.

Could be the fire that was about 6 miles north of the Tecate border on 94 and it looks like they had it mostly under control at least on the side of

Looks a lot closer than Tecate. looks it might be somewhere out of town on the road to Ojos Negros. Hard to tell from the photo angle

Doc, didn't you see the one at Campo 7 here in Punta Banda last week? Started around 6 PM and burned up the hill half way to the towers before being
put out around sunset.

Bob, I was busy drinking grape juice in the wine valley. Calculated guess on today's fire is Ojos Negros area.

Ensenada, BC - Over 10 hectares of scrub and damage to a ranch in the area, is part of the balance of registered fire yesterday afternoon, at 3
kilometer road to Ojos Negros, a claim similar happened in the area known as Piedras Gordas.
According to the Bureau of Fire, the three kilometer fire was reported shortly before 13:00 pm, so that more than 10 fighters made their way to the
area.
For the size of the fire and the risk that the fire reached the urban area, called the support staff of the Second Naval Region who attended a pipe.
Among the damages you post a poultry farm and infrastructure damage Paniagua ranch.
The "tragahumo" commented that the dry grass caused the rapid spread of fire, and garbage accumulated at various points.
Piedras Gordas specified that in addition to fighters municipal staff attended the National Forestry Commission (Conafor) and Mexican Army.
July Obregon Angulo, Municipal Civil Protection Director, reported that the road was closed for 40 minutes because the fire crossed the federal
highway administration, that caused vehicles traveling to Ensenada and back, were arrested while the fire consumed the dry grass.

I would be wondering too if I was seeing that smoke out my window, it presents a very striking contrast to the clear sky around it. Very interesting

I did check the local newspapers to no avail, but if I was that bored I would head towards the smoke and see where it was coming from!!

Country fires are a "no biggee" here. They don't have the resources to fight them, and they aren't a threat to humanity....so they just let them run
their course.

Ninety-nine percent of those fires are started by coyotes who hope in the confusion to run their load of dope or bodies past CBP. The Chilangos on
Emery Rd caught one red handed and beat the hell out of him.

Saturday 9/28 3pm, Hwy 3 west of Ojos Negros, road was closed for about two hours.

Dude, everyone knows fires are started by mountain lions. When the mountain lion chases it's prey, it runs so fast that sparks are sometimes caused
by it's claws hitting rocks. This is the major source of fires in the wilderness today.

I USED to think it was caused by those mis-shapen bottles of aguardiente, the clear ones. You know, the people chug-a-lug, toss 'em then they act like
little magnifying glasses. This explains the accelerent residue they always find around the source of the fire, the cane alcohol. I mean Jeez you just
gotta believe this.
