cost for a fishing day trip in San Felipe?
Anyone got ideas? Does time of year matter?
As you might guess I'm not a fisherman!

If you mean going out on a panga from the Malecon
for 5 hrs. or so, often going to Consag Rock, I believe it is
14 mi.out from SF, with 3 people fishing, 40 dlls
per person would be a ballpark figure, sometimes
they return with fish sometimes just a boat ride,
SF is not known for it's sportfishing

The previous post is about right. $100-$150 for a 5 hour ponga ride. I have heard the fishing can be good (large corvine), but I am not sure what is
in season. Gonzaga Bay is a better bet for fishing.

The warmer the better. Get hold of Pablo Nieblas at big boys restaurant where he manages. I can give you his cell if necessary. He has a Panga with a
shade and he prefers you to speak English.

Agree with all the posts. If if needs to be San Felipe then that is where you will fish...but if you have time/options, the further south the better.
If fishing and fresh fish is THE main attraction , then San Quintin is a better bet...you can get great "freezer" fish pretty much any time of year.
(In regards that it is not too far away and you can make a long weekend out of it.)

The fishing in or near San Felipe is null....unless you wish to take the kiddies out to catch a very few little ones. That rock out there......one
needs to have the right tide......but the winds out there this time of the year can certainly ruin your breakfast in a hurry.
Most but no all......there a $40.00 to $60.00 PER person with a two person minimum. Should you decide to hire out a panga.....check with your own
eyes...that there is life jackets aboard. Dont ask...LOOK!
I suggest that you drive down to Pueritcitos or to beyond...all just a two hour drive, give or take. Many camps right before and a few after
Pueritcitos....will have boats for hire. Just drive down the roads...and ask :-) The fishing down there is superior.
Cold weather and cold water this time of the year will affect the fishing....

Excellent point, much more so than the cost or how
many fish you may catch, not to be alarming though,
while some pangas may have PFD's and maybe
a radio, not sure all do

All registered sport fishing boats must have pfds radio and fishing licenses. In San Felipe they do check. There is good Sierra fishing out at the
rock as well as large Corvina and some white Sea Bass

In gonzaga last week rented a panga $200 for five hours at Alfonsinas

I agree with you Captain 
A tip if your group intends to fish from SF.....
Go down to the Malecon the day before to make arrangements for next day's fishing. The panga will be readied for you and the group that next morning.
