Pictures from recent Mainland Mexico and Central American Trips
Pictures from recent trips to mainland Mexico, Belize, Panama and Costa Rica from San Jose del Cabo. Belize was visited by taking the ferry from La
Paz to Topo and driving the coast to Chiapas( San Cristobal de Las Casas - Palenque) and then entering Belize at Chetumal). Central Highlands
(Guadalajara, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato) was visited by flying to Guadalajara, renting a car and driving to San Miguel de Allende, and
Guanajuato. Mexico City was fly and bus. Panama and Costa Rica was fly, rent auto and bus. Enjoy.

I've been wanting to do that same trip to Guadalajara and San M and Guanajuato. We flew from SJdC over to Guadalajara and rented and drove to Puerto
Vallarta for a wedding last spring. I so wanted to just keep going! But we found that the car was not at all needed in Guadalajara during the four
days there.
How was having the rental car in San Miguel and Guanajuato? Useful? I know it must have been to get there. Great trips all, and I hope to follow in
your footsteps soon.

I look forward to spending a lot more time looking at your pictures ---one question, Does the Hotel San Francisco Plaza still have hot water in the
toilets? LOVE that part of Mexico.
El Jefe --- when we had our Tundra, we parked it at a large supermarket on the outskirts of San Miguel and took a bus or taxi into the the central
area. The streets are quite narrow and parking not always very good. But if you prefer to drive, it is doable especially with a small car.
We also much prefer to use public transportation for downtown Guanajuato as the traffic in the tunnels there is crazy, at least we think so.
How did you do it, crowbar?

Crowbar, it would be perfectly ok to post your responses in open forum here if you want to. That way others can benefit from your experience.
You wouldn't be clogging up the site by any means! Lord knows there is a lot of fluff posted here, and some good down to earth info is really
appreciated. Thanks for what you sent me.

I just looked at the Ferry picyures and I did not realize it had a dining room and bar or were they taken somewhere else.

The ferry pictures are taken in the lounge. The ferry takes about 8 hours to cross. If you wanted you can rent a room. Management does not care
however if you just doze off in the lounge area. I recall there was also seating in a theater like environment where people sat and dozed off or
watched movies. Google Baja Ferries for the ferry's website and you can get all the particulars.

Were you driving an RV for these trips? I saw you visited RV campgrounds. Did they offer good security for you and your belongings?

then people can click on the link and be taken directly to the pictures
when we took the ferry from la paz to Topo, we had a room. They are small and clean ...
