Thanks Pacifico and Ken.

Ken, those were quick handheld shots taken with the Nex6. No time to set up. The more and more I use the Nex6, the more and more I wonder about all that heavy equipment I have. The heavy stuff is becoming quite lonely.

Diane,

I know what you mean. The only Nikon piece getting any love is my 85mm1.8 with adapter on the Nex7.

Thank you. :saint:

Ken, I am having serious thoughts about selling some of the lonely equipment and buy some other things for the Nex like the Zeiss lens you talk about! In a way it is difficult to think of letting the equipment go, but right now, it all just sits there....

If you have any prime lenses consider keeping them and using on the nex. Adapters are reasonable.

Interesting post processing on that 2nd image Diane. I think I like it. Just need to be with it a bit longer.

PS I'll gladly relieve you of those heavy lenses. I can only imagine what a burden they must be. :saint::saint:

Thanks Igor,
Just for comparison, here is that image straight out of the camera --- mainly played with the contrast to bring out more detail. One of the things I really like about the Nex6 is that it has a setting that exposes for several different points so what might be totally black unless one used a ND filter, is exposed along with the bright areas.

And since you are a Nikon person, my Canon stuff would do you no good. :P :biggrin:

Won't that adaptor cost you a stop? I think it will.

I prefer heavy equipment for hand held shots. Less "shake, rattle and roll."

Not sure exactly what you're saying. The adapter will allow wide open and fully stopped, down side is the ring only has about 5 rachets so you have no exact reference to the actual setting. This isn't an issue with older lenses with aperature rings.

This was shot with that lens wide open.

Glad there is no fire and after the snow last night, there is less fire danger a least for now! But in person, it did look like fire.

Ah, but at this advanced age, after hiking, or even just walking a few miles, that equipment grows and grows in weight!

The adaptor adds distance between the lens and the film plane or sensors, whatever the case may be. That affects DOF.
