Mulege Casa Fire, support requested

This afternoon a casa was completely destroyed by fire. It is owned by Beto, a friend and a long time maintenance man in the area. He lived near the highway above the Jungla. This happened during the Yellow Tail Tournament ( hint hint ). There will be a benefit fund raising dinner in the next 10 days. He needs your support. What can you do? Purchase a dinner ticket, Bring a side dish to the dinner, Pledge a few pesos for his construction fund, Donate any extra building material you may have, Donate your labor, Donate food and clothing { at the Jungla}
All funds will go direct to Beto.
Dinner date and details will be published in the next day or 2.
Post any and all questions. Post your pledges here or u2u.
He is a good guy and needs help.

Thanks to all.

Please let Maria, Beto's wife, know that I'll sew curtains for the whole house, if she'd like. When the time is right, she and I can go to Sta. Rosalia and she can pick out the materials of her choice.

Anything new on Beto and his family? We're coming down near the end of March. Are there things they need that are difficult to get locally? What's the progress on restoring their home?

Mike, yes, sent you a reply. ThX!!
After several dump runs, scrap metal sold, cooper wire and pipes sold and many hours of sweeping, clean up is almost done. 3 walls had to be demoed, but most are structurally sound. Family, friends and the bomberos , as well as visiting well wishers all pitched in on the clean up.
Beto has received lots of clothes, but his grandchild could use some more, as well as his daughter. Beto is a Gardner and mason and lost all his tools. Clippers, pruners, hoe , rake etc.could be useful as well as trowels, knee pads, and a masons hammer. Pots and pans and dishes and silverware would also appreciated. Hit up a yard sale for the family. Also, they have 2 dogs and dog food prices here have skyrocketed.
The benefit dinner, this coming Sat. From 3-6, will be a huge event. As of 2 days ago, over 320 tickets have been sold. I expect we will sell over 400. In addition, many donations of money, food and basic needs have been received.
Mulege fishermen.... please donate some fish for the dinner! Drop off your fish on friday after 2pm or sat. Morning. Juan Carlos will fillet them.
Dinner tickets are for sale at the jungla, or from myself, Terri, Kevin, extra lap Al, the bicycle man... Celso or any of the Mulege n Motion AC volunteers.
We also need cooking oil, paper plates, napkins, forks, . The governors secretary donated half of what we need, but tickets sales are still strong.
Due to the extraordinary support of the people of Mulege, the family is comfortable and their spirits are high.
Thanks to all , from the Beto Meza family.

On edit.....All the moneys, as per Beto`s request, iare being held in escrow by M n M.
Jorge and Beto will solicite bids for building materials and will release funds per Betos invoices.
