Yrs. back, a sailboater off Baja, reported a whale, Humpback
I think, approached his boat, it obviously thinking
the bottom of the boat was another whale, humorous at
first, but after some
12 hrs. of wrangling, turning the boat 180 a few times,
the suitor gave up and swam off

Collisions are not uncommon. But Sn Ignacio seems to generate fewer reports. The panga I was riding in got slapped hard and went sideways several feet. It tore a chunk out of the gunnel about two feet long and 6" wide. The cap'n smacked his head on the motor and got knocked out cold. Lucky me I was way up in the bow. It ain't knotts berry farm. But when a mama pushes her newborn over to be petted the scales tip back the other way.

This was no Ballena Gris in a bay; this was definitely a humpie on what looks like open waters, and he wuz doin' The Nasty to the boat; good thing he didn't punch a hole in the bottom: then you'd really see Mobey's Dick!!!

If that happed in Cali the captain and boat would be in big trouble for being too close to whales . San Diego just closed a beach to protect seals that are not endangered

This video shows a whale being much better behaved:

Just leave the whale alone, someone eventually will get killed then maybe they will give the whales the space they deserve
