Have you seen this real-time border wait website?

I check this all the time... with the Sentri I have the point is moot, but when I trailer you have to go regular.... so I always check Tecate which lately has been having longer waits than normal...

I find Tecate is best mid-week, mid-day

here's the link I look at all the time:

Crossed at Tecate Northboucd on Wed. around 1:00pm. Drove right up to the gate, no line at all. Thought I died and went to heaven. then 30 sec. at the gate and back in the US.

Unreliable. I always figured it was by design. They traditionally go out of their way to not be a public service.

This is better when there is a USER REPORT. They report the gov site info which is the same site you gave, but like Dennis said, this can be way off. Click the sentri, or ready to see all times. And AGAIN, a border forum would be nice here.
Plus if you get the app. you can report your times!!

CBP site is useless for SY or Otay. The wait times come from the border agents randomly asking people how long they have been waiting in line. I don't even know why they bother reporting since they should know it's not accurate.

There is and app for that

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/best-time-to-cross-the-borde...

FYI - with Sentri pass you can use the Ready Lanes. We do it when we have the camper on the truck. :saint:

I'll go along with bc4me.
Several times I have overheard (while being interviewed by CBP agent) their radio asking approximate wait time. Their response has been: "I have not asked yet". At which point I tell them my experience of time waiting.

I have AT&T and pay $30.00 month for 120MB of International data. Mostly email and if I am down for a week or so I use that up and then they charge me more. I am self employed so I am always working :saint:

I like Ateo's idea.

There will be a new website (not from CBP) that will be more accurate. It should be up by the end of the month.

I cross Otay every weekday at 5 p.m. Compared the actual wait to the reported wait for a week or two - wildly inaccurate.

Northbound at San ysidro sentri lane: monday, 1:15pm, 20 minute wait.

The new lanes were backed up to the roundabout. A couple of tj cops were working the last intersection (just before you go up the ramp)for a while and turning sentri people away from entering there. They left and that intersection was a free for all. What a nightmare.

In the event some were unaware, today is Benito Juarez Day in Mexico. It's a semi big time holiday.

OK...before I get corrected:

March 21 Benito Juárez's birthday Natalicio de Benito Juárez Commemorates President Benito Juárez's birthday on March 21, 1806 (See also Patriotic holidays in Mexico).
Observance: Third Monday of March

Any attempt to report border waits in times (as hours and minutes) has to be incorrect. Two cars can arrive together to the wait and the time will be different, always.
A report with number of vehicles is more accurate but still not perfect.
The best I've found, and use is this real time web cam site.

Border crossing app

I have this app and as the old saying goes"garbage in garbage out" The border CBP gives the waits and they are usually wrong. I always report my time when crossing on foot and bring to the attention of the guards when times are off. The other day it took me 36 minutes to go 150 feet. The CBP said that there was no wait. If you start using this app make sure to give your crossing time so that it will be more accurately reflected.
