Zion and Bryce for Memorial Day Adventure
Spent four wonderful days at Zion and Bryce national parks. Camped within the park at Zion, and a day trip to Bryce.
West Rim Trail – it looks down on Angels Landing, circles around to some interesting red rock cliffs, mesas, mini-canyons, flowers. This photo does
not do this view justice.
The deer are approachable; we also saw elk, pronghorn and big-horn sheep.
This view is just behind our campground:
The Virgin River is very refreshing on a hot day:

"Don't show my wife! She wants to go here badly!"
I was surprised to see how efficiently Zion handles the hoards of visitors. We were there on the busiest day of year and yet the free shuttles were
arriving every 5 or 6 minutes to drop you off at various points all through the valley for any amount of hiking, walking, exploring you'd care to do.
Paved (wheelchair accessible) river walks, plenty of toilets. Immediately outside the entrance is Springdale with many hotels, restaurants, shops - a
free shuttle goes through Springdale too.
I learned that there are shoe and neoprene boot and heavy walking poles for rent to do The Narrows hike. Even dry suits for rent (the river is pretty
cold, water waist high). You can park outside the entrance and walk in for less than driving your car (free with a senior pass), and you really don't
need your car if you just want to spend your time in the valley.

My backyard. We have a separate casita that we let guests use that are coming to explore the desert southwest..
.. but for now, SUPER excited about the next 60 days south of San Felipe.
