HAPPY SOLSTICE !!

The Summer Solstice occurred at 6:00 a.m. this morning (mas o meno), the looooongest day of the year! Bad news, now the days get shorter. Good news, now the Baja gets closer!! Wish I was at the marker there between La Paz and Los Cabos. So to all you Druids, Wiccans, Celts, Pagans, or basic sun-worshipers (even those pesky NUDISTS) HAPPY DAY!

Thank you, buddha bro'!
My thoughts today are of thankfulness for the light as it shows me the way
and gratitude for the darkness for it reveals the stars in all their wonder.

...according to almanac records, the hottest day of the year is actually around August 17th, as January is colder than December. Takes a while for thermal mass to... blah, blah, blah...... HAPPY SOLSTICE anyhoo!! Just more reason to stay hydrated.

My sentiments too. I love the long days. Many days, I look toward the clock to see if it's time to make dinner, and see it is 7 or 8 pm already.

Greetings to all other Summer Solstice Lovers today from Bahia Asuncion, where it is foggy and cool this morning!!! (Much pity for the friends I left behind in La Paz) And, as a newcomer, may I ask why this thread is in "Baja Political Forum"? Please tell me the movement of the earth itself has not become controversial!

ps--some of you have great taglines...i'm still working on coming up with the perfect one for my posts. here's one i wrote about a gazzillion years ago that I am considering resurrecting:

Love conquers all not by changing circumstances but by remaining unchanged through all circumstance.
