Mt Shasta, 4th of July long weekend
It was 110 in Redding but as we approached Weed there were beautiful clouds right above us.

It's farm country up there in Modoc. The storm clouds hung low.

The bug hatches were abundant this year. We had mayflies all over the vehicle.

The mid-morning spinner fall. Spent spinner would float into the eddy and fish fed on the bugs in the foam.

Parachute Adams danced on the surface gave a good imitation of the emerging caddis.

BEAUTIFUL --- a really nice set. Reflections on evening light is my favorite. A beautiful place to me.
We were up in the Zumwalt Prairie in northeast Oregon over the 4th and we kept hoping for a storm with all the clouds.

Thank you for the comments.
It was a very restful holiday. I love it up there. Every morning I would wait until the sun rose high enough to reach the camper and then position my
lawn chair under the great oak to where the rays felt warm. Then with binoculars in hand I would look upward. Didn't bring the book with me but they
were all familiar. Now I'm in the office and it's fun to remember.

I'm glad you enjoyed my "other" home place! We had a nice soft soaking BRIEF rain last night and the the green is also damp. The condition of the
Sacrament River above Box Canyon Dam is too sad to contemplate.
