Montejo and Leon both from Yucatan and both in grupo Modelos stable. I really like Leon but Montejo not so much its drinkable but not great.
ps If you noticed I said from yucatan not "the" yucatan. I´m trying to fit in

I have had it in the Yucatan, saw on the label it was made in Oaxaca....
I would rather drink Negra Modelo or Indio but when it's 100% humidity
and 94℉ in Merida anything tastes good,LOL

We stumbled across Montejo when it was included in an 8-pack we bought at Walmart in La Paz. 4 Leons, 2 Montejos, 2 Pacificos. I haven't seen it
sold by itself around here - only in the 8-pack. It's OK, I like it, but I'd rather have a Negra Modelo too!

The two darkest days in the history of Mexican beer are when the Mexican government mandated the lowering of the alcohol content, supposedly to deal
with the borracho problem, and when Anheuser Busch bought Grupo Modelo.
Oh. And then there's that InBev thingy. AB is now owned by the Belgian company InBev, whose original product was Stella Artois.
So, between the lowering of alcohol content, the international ownership, and the fact that they brew their beer wherever the Hades they wish, so much
for traditional beer.
AB has been brewing a Japanese beer (Sapporo) on contract in the US at such places as Van Nuys for years.
Go look for craft brews if you want any taste.
