PLANE PARKED ON HIGHWAY 1
Did anyone see the small plane parked on the shoulder of Highway 1 last week in Guayaquil? We passed it heading south on Friday and when coming
north the military and police were searching it. They had the seats pulled out and were staring at us as we drove by. My wife snapped a photo. I'll
post later.

Yes. I saw it last Wednesday heading South. The police were there. They looked at me as I drove by. I didn't have the nerve to turn around and get
my camera out. It was a large single engine plane, I believe a Bonanza.

When we first passed it there were no cops. Just sitting there in the middle of nowhere. I thought maybe someone towed it from the Guayaquil
airstrip or something. Maybe someone was running low on fuel and landed that sucker on Highway 1? My meth habit just got more expensive. Kidding.

It's a Piper Cherokee maybe a "235" model.

Looks like a Piper Cherokee 6. It is the same color as one from Baja Air Ventures. Looks like there is no damage so hopefully no one was injured.

I saw it Saturday the 9th around 1pm and there was one soldier there looking at it and then when I headed north Saturday the 16th it was gone.

For those of us who are geographically challenged, where is Guayaquil? Close to Loreto?

Near the top edge of the map, just north of Hwy. 1... the black square box indicating a tiny village...
