Hurricane Odile Nomad's On Scene Reports, Photos, & Pertinent Info

Can we use this separate thread Odile thread exclusively for on-scene reports from Nomads and photos (before, during, and after) and roads or other emergency conditions and messages.

Please continue to post your forecasts, weather and informational links, comments and well-wishes on the other current thread.

Easier to weed through and a time-saver for those with spotty power and those of us on solar.

Thanks

We're all anxious to here how Bajajudy and other Nomads in Cabo and the East Cape are doing as well as Todos Santos. It looks like Bajalinda and Rob are in the midst of it now.

Hit Loreto at 2AM. Eye is still south and coming. Gusts 100mph, rain 168mm and far from finished. Power on and off (bloody miracle, the on part).

Next time I'll start the "on-scene reports" thread earlier in the storm event to help separate the topic. Doug's impression seems correct, that people will continue to post on the original thread no matter how long it gets. I'll keep this thread going anyway...

9/15 8:30am Punta Pequeña/San Juanico
84° 70% Scattered light rain with sun poking through small break in mostly cloudy sky. Wind just changed and is coming from the North/NE ( at 15mph.)

The 5am update had the center passing over here at 80mph this evening. We'll know in 29 minutes if that's changed.

Still a bit windy and rainy, got our a$$es kicked last night. The beach is a mess, washes running, water looks like chocolate milk. I haven't ventured out past my house yet, I still have some water to clean up but will go look around later. Have you heard from Lizzie?

David, if you get as far as a few doors down, can you look over the wall from the empty lot next door and see if our storm boards managed to stay up on the beach side? Gracias in advance.

Electricity/Internet off, cell phone service out, but phones are working. Friend's rain gauge overflowed at 5", trees stripped, some damage reported but will post more later as it comes in. I'm sure the flooded arroyos have isolated the town so no access.

Heavy rain, wind in Loreto, nasty but not bad yet. Odile due here within the hour. Waves crashing over the malecon, sidewalks and streets, flooded.

Yes. I was trying to find a way to save photos from Twitter and post here.

To all Nomads, there are a lot of photos and first hand reports on Twitter.

The other thread was started exactly one week ago and contains pages of pre-event forecasts, anecdotes etc. I started this one as an experiment to see if it's easier to follow for current conditions and status reports during the storm as well as storm related photos. I had hoped the title would explain the difference but maybe it's too confusing.

Hang tight Mula.
