Lava Flow on the Big Island of Hawaii threatening to swallow up the town of Pahoa

There has been an unexpected turn of events on the Big Island of Hawaii. The lava flow has turned towards the relatively poor town of Pahoa on the Big Island and people are evacuating. Residents are looking for housing anywhere and rentals are at a huge premium as homes are being swallowed up at a rate of over 900 feet a day of advancing lava.

Pahoa ... its a town full of hippies. : )

edit: I really hope the lava doesn't threaten anyone's homes. Its one of my favorite areas on the big island.
