Windsurfer missing in Cabo Pulmo, East Cape - search ongoing

Tried to post this yesterday, but looks like the post didn't go through: a local Cabo Pulmo divemaster, Roberto Davis, disappeared while windsurfing last Thursday. Passing along the word for East Cape/Cabo people who can help search/keep an eye out.

Biggest problem is that Roberto didn't make "check in" arrangements with anyone, so no one realized he was missing until Saturday. Then the pieces were put together: his towel left on the beach, etc. There's an active search ongoing for him, but at this point the potential search area is very large. More info available at the facebook link below: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Amigos-para-la-Conservaci%C3%...

Very sobering reminder of on-the-water safety basics: always let someone know where you're going and when you're expected back. He was extremely fit and athletic, and wearing a wetsuit, so could have paddled the board a very long distance, even if the wind died, or the sail broke. The winds weren't exceptionally strong, and he didn't do acrobatics. So it's hard to come up with scenarios of what might have happened other than the obvious: "shark" (bull, tiger, great white), "boat collision", "heart attack", "sailed to Panama..."

All of you water lovers out there, be safe!
