La Paz Malecon

Does anyone have updated information on what is being decided about the commercialization of the malecon in La Paz? My friend returned over the weekend and he said the waiters in the local restaurants we all talking about it.

I know there is both a movement to add commercial establishments on the malecon and another to leave it uncommercial.

Personally, it's one of the best malecons in Mexico, hate to see it change too much.

From what I understand, the city is trying to gain some control for the Malecon from the Federal governement. The thought was they might wish to put a couple seaside restaurants, etc.
