Attempted Pemex rip off
This happened a few months ago but had forgotten to send out a warning until we passed by there yesterday.
When you are leaving SJD and headed north, it is the first Pemex on your right.
The guy tried the..."I already put 100 pesos in the tank" trick. "So I only need to put 400 more."
We left him standing by the pump with the nozzle in his hand and a surprised look on his face.

Is this the new one just past the airport bridge?
I filled my diesel there on my Christmas trip this year and they managed to squeeze a few more liters in than I thought the tank would hold. Not
enough to p*ss me off but to concern me. I'll start going back to the last station before the Santa Anita bridge as I've never had issues there.

Well not related to this trick, but I was fortunate to meet David Copperfield of Mexico
While traveling from Cancun to Chichen Itza, you know being a photographer I can't take a bus. We drove to the site and after spending a few hours
wandering around it started to pour down, so we left.
I decided to take the free road back to Cancun and stopped in the village to get petro
The total came to 160 pesos to top of the tank
I opened my wallet, I had a 200 peso bill and a 500 peso bill.
I grab the 200 peso and put it in the hand of attendent. His hand was open and flat and I placed the peso flat in his hand. He looks at the pump at
about the same time.
He looks back at me and says 160 pesos in spanish.
I look at his hand and there is a 20 peso bill, where there was once a 200 peso bill.
I couldn't help but laugh. I am assuming he had a 20 peso bill in his other hand and while I looked up at the pump he closed one hand and opened the
other.

That scheme was played on me years ago in Ensenada across the street from the old La Pinta.
