Complaint Dept. (Pet peeves)
People are b-tching about so many things lately.
Here's mine.
I hate to complain about petty things, but....Why can't we get eggs in a smaller carton, instead of the carton below? We don't want all that many
eggs laying around for any length of time.
How damn hard can it be to get this?
Just one of the things that bug me......and on the other hand I have Nothing against climate change or highway checkpoints.

It is a difference in attitude! Do you view your carton as full, or only 1/3 full?

My guess is that Mexican "families" are bigger, thus the need for a larger quantity.

cut the carton in half, flip the cut side onto the top of the eggs and VIOLA!
you may need duct tape to compensate for the lack of an integral hinge, tho!

We take down a carton full of eggs and then reuse it once it's empty. Problem solved.

We started doing just that long ago, Bajaboy...but they somehow went south after a month or so. It's a temporary fix, however.

We always use one of the plastic camping egg holders that is practically indestructible.
The new Ley store in SR is selling them in the smaller containers.

I think I still have one of those plastic egg containers in the RV..the ones with a handle and are hinged. Leave it to Ley's to be
innovative/progressive by using the dozen-size containers. Often wondered when it would catch on. Preferred by most everybody these days?
It got old to have to cut the old egg cartons in half and tying the whole thing together with string...then picking it up by the string, only to have
the whole mess end up on the floor. Or am I the only one to have had that happen...oh boy....'Clean up on aisle 4!"

Mexicans sell eggs by the kilo, not the dozen so why package them by the dozen.
FYI, Mexicans held onto the top spot as egg consumers with 335 per person in 2012.

To be grammatically correcto, the singular of the word 'tamales' is NOT 'tamale' (which does not exist)....
... it is actually 'tamal'. Who knew?

I might as well throw a couple more peeves into the mix.
Authentic Mexican Cooking.
"Oh man, these burritos are SO TASTY..."
Before most Mexicans came to America, they had no idea that a burrito was a fast food dish. To them, a burrito was something their grandmother used
for transportation on her farm.
Same thing with putting those damn olives in a taco or tamal. And cheddar cheese in your enchilada?..grrrr...
And I thought "Gravity" was kinda boring, too....

Not sure where you are, but in BCS eggs are sold by the carton or
individually, not by weight. Will look forward to hearing if we are the only ones with this experience. FF

Yep, here in Bahia Asuncion they are sold by the each, or in a flat of 30. Sometimes at Sorianas in Vizcaino they have three rows of five plastic
wrapped. I like that. That would be XV for those who don't understand metrics.

We save the 12 packages and either give them to a small local store and/or use them as we buy more eggs if a dozen container isn't available. Sort
of like bringing your own grocery bags instead of using the inexhaustible plastic bags.

Pet Peeve....I thought Mexico was already in the America's. Maybe you are talking about the Spanish coming to America (what was to become Mexico).

norte, Americans have been calling their country "America" for more than two centuries. Granted, it's an imperfect word. It's common practice for
the US and for Mexico. They will and should continue. Judging from the content you can judge whether one is talking about the rest of the continent
or just the USA. I get that you are peeved, like me, but we'll just have to deal with it.
You might prefer calling a US citizen a"United Statesian" rather than an "American".
