Best hand held GPS for fishing?

Please keep in mind I am a mental midget when it comes to electronics and I need something extremely user friendly.

I am looking to buy, hopefully for under $100, a hand held GPS to mark fishing spots and if need be to get me back to the dock. I see the Garmin e Trex but before I pull the trigger I am looking for your expertise.

What do you recommend to get me started?

Garmin Map76 is good, cheap, and user friendly.

I really like Nobletec for navigation. They have a iPad app called Time Zero. I'm not sure if they have charts for Baja, but if they do it's a really powerful tool.

I keep going back to the Garmin ETREX.....I have the normal overpriced all singing all dancing unit in my boat....But the ETREX has provided reliable backup on more than one occasion....and UNDER 100 bucks....

I'll second Pompano's recommendation on the Garmin 76.
I've used it for years, including driving a mapping PC as a backup to a "real" chart plotter.

There are great Free apps for your smart phone or iphone that work here off Loreto on the water "without" cellular service required out there.. They track, marked your location and have navigational charts for the waters..

Garmin 76 or I have an old model 72 I'll trade for something.

Here's the owners manual

get a garmin 76 map b/w. secure the battery cap with a piece of spectra to the loop in the back. Coat your network connections with dialectic grease. I have had mine for at least 7 years. Solid unit

I also have the etrex but I don't like it as well as the older GPS72.

Howard, this is available if you'd prefer it.

Unless it has a much larger screen, I would like to stick to the Garmin.
