London- Kensington Garden and Palace

My friend and I took the bus from Somerset into London last week. It was a double decker which offered beautiful views along the way. The British are famed for their garden and here is one we saw as we walked to the busstop:

On our second day in London, we went to meet up with my middle school friend whom I hadn't seen in 45 years! The destination was the Orangery Restaurant located at Kensington Gardens - home to Kensington Palace where Kate and Will live. A truly spectacular setting.

THE GARDENS:

THE PALACE -KATE AND WILL LIVE ON THE FAR RIGHT:

THIS IS THE ORANGERY VERY POSH VENUE WHERE WE MET FOR BRUNCH:

ALEXA AND I AFTER 45 YEARS - SHE SAYS MY VOICE IS THE SAME - NOT THE REST OF ME AS I USED TO WEIGH 115 LBS:

GORGEOUS ENGLISH CHINA:

ALEXA AND I IN FRONT OF THE PALACE:

THOSE WHO ARE ACTIVE CAN RENT BIKES:

FROM THE GARDENS WE WENT AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD. WE SAW PORTOBELLO MARKET WHICH HAPPENS EVERY SATURDAY. IT IS A HUGE GARAGE SALE WITH USED AND NEW STUFF, INCLUDING ANTIQUES, JEWELLERY, CLOTHES, FOOD AND MORE. HERE IT IS OFF IN THE DISTANCE:

THE NEXT REPORT WILL BE ON THE PORTOBELLO MARKET AND A BRIEF TRIP THRU NOTTING HILL WHERE THE MOVIE OF THE SAME NAME WAS FILMED.

I HAVE NO PHOTOS (WAS NOT PERMITTED) BUT WE WENT TO SEE A PLAY CALLED JERSEY BOYS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT - IT GOT A STANDING OVATION AT THE END.

LONDON IS MAGICAL - A MUST VISIT!

Portobello Market???? Be still my heart! I could spend days there. Orangery looks swank, was it tasty? My ultra frugal sis would NEVER even consider such an expenditure, so I won't go with her! You're photos make me wish I'd gone there instead of New Zealand twice.

the Orangery is really inexpensive! Has the look and feel of swank without the OUCH factor.

The Portobello Market definitely would require beaucoup Saturdays to see it properly.....for those of us who love second-hand shops, antique shops, it is a fun-filled expedition.

Thanks for the photos, Blanca.

BTW, we say the Jersey boys in Vegas early last year and had front row seats. The musical was fantastic.
