Traditional Folkloric Dancing- Video! 6/30
Les planned our trip to Poland to make sure that we would be here for two events and this is one of them:
A yearly festival that brings kids and adults together to dance their country's traditional dances.
I took videos but I am going to need someone to load them onto youtube- my connection is too slow. They are less than 2 minutes each.....and they
are FANTASTIC.
THE VENUE WHICH IS A ONE MINUTE WALK FROM OUR APARTMENT:
THE CROWD ... CAN YOU FIND LES?
UKRAINE GIRLS:
AND MORE DANCERS:
MORE TO COME SOON.

I went thru 2 batteries (very prepared today) but guess what...the memory chip filled up and I was not able to take video or pics of the Siberian
dances and they were very unique. They did a story dance where 2 of the dancers wore heavy duty fur hats to imitate the animals. It was excellent.
Today is the last day and perhaps they will do a repeat.
no waiting for tp or anything - quite an abundance of products. Poland is advancing a mile a minute.
This festival is 100% free to the public - I would so love to get Mexican kids over here to participate! Not to mention some Brazilian samba dancers.

Today was the last day of the dance festival. The Siberians were gone already - such a shame.
These are people/costume pics rather than dancer pics (for the most part).
The videos should be available in a couple days - I had to ask for help!
THIS LITTLE ONE DANCED UP A STORM!

Thank you for keeping us along on your trip, Blanca! Very interesting. Some of the embroidery on those dancers' costumes is similar to Oaxacan
designs. I am thinking about you two.

Hello Tony!
There are a couple of dance moves that definitely have a connection to Mexican traditional dance steps too.
I hope to load some videos because they are truly fun.

Thanks for those nice images and dance lore, Blanca. My childhood neighborhood was filled with very similar dancing events and costumes. We had
dances every weekend at local 'barns' that featured polkas, schottisches, and line dancing..all of Scandinavia origin. My favorite was the
schottisches, first groups of twosomes dancing in rounds - bigger groups...a lot of fun that progressed into twosomes doing western swing,
two-stepping, etc. Formal weddings or just fun times..we enjoyed it. Some dance images from Cold Udder, ND.
