BBR,
How fitting that you should be the first to reply
Would you use a saddle or just bareback?

His name is Spot! In a firm voice, calmly tell him to SIT, and STAY.
Then go find a safe place to change your shorts.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

Fitting indeed.
I'd be too petrified to do anything, I think.
[I give myself massive credit for resisting crude jokes and puns in my response. ]

just dont look them in the eye! when I would go on my berry picking walks in Tofino, I would often encounter bears berry eating so I would just go to
my own bush and pretend I didnt see him...ya kinda get used to them after awhile...good thing is they are noisy and you can easily hear them coming
and grazing...not like cougar.

I was involved with almost the same situation while on KODIAK island. Saw a huge amount of bears who like to fish in the same rivers we fished.
Our guide that dropped us off in a float plane said to not mind the bears because they were used to seeing humans, and, if anything, make yourself
look larger than you are. We took bear mace just in case.
The first and second time, it was disconcerting, but after that...no biggie!
