CROSSING SOUTH AT TECATE

FROM A POSTER ON BAJAPONYEXPRESS...

Tecate road works detour.

1) After clearing customs, turn right at the next intersection on to “Revolucion”. (There is a road works sign at this intersection blocking the usual way down the hill).

2) Drive along Revolucion and turn left at the 6th intersection on to “Eufracio Santana”. (The five streets you pass to get to this point are “Presidente Elias”, “Presidente Alvaro Obregon”, “Presidente Adolfo de la Huerta”, “Venunstian”, and “Aldrete”).

3) Follow “Eufracio Santana” to the 9th intersection, which is a major 4 lane highway with a median called “Boulevard Defensores de Baja California”.

4) Go straight across the intersection. “Eufracio Santana” now becomes “Av Nuevo Leon”.

5) Follow “Av Nuevo Leon” for about 1km, during which it becomes a 4 lane highway with a median. (You will cross a railway track, and go under a pedestrian overpass before the 4 lane section). Watch out for a big bump at/near the first set of lights.

6) When “Av Nuevo Leon” meets the next 4 lane highway, after about 1km, turn right. This is the Tecate-Ensenada Highway and you will be uphill from the bridge and McDonalds.
