When we crossed southbound a few weeks ago at SY, we stopped so SWMBO could get her FMM (I have a RP). She shows the lady officer at the desk her
passport and the officer notices that it was stamped in October and said she didn't need one as the FMM issued then would still be good. "So, lady,
where is the FMM?" "I don't have it, aren't we supposed to turn them in when we cross north bound anyway?" "No, they are good for 180 days, so you
need to go get it - and do you think I could get into the USA without a Visa?"
So we go to the truck and pretend to search for it, go back into the office with our tails between our legs and say we can't find it. The other
officer starts to have SWMBO fill out a new form and the original officer looks over from the work she is doing says sternly, "You will have to pay
for this one!"
We pay and skedaddle. Sheesh.
On the way back to the truck SWMBO uncharacteristically muttered "B*tch".
My advice is to never get between to women who are starting to not get along.
Nomad needs a new category: "Adventures with FMMs"
\"Probably the airplanes will bring week-enders from Los Angeles before long, and the beautiful poor bedraggled old town will bloom with a
Floridian ugliness.\" (John Steinbeck, 1940, discussing the future of La Paz, BCS, Mexico)
Originally used by Rumpole of the Bailey to refer to his sig other, not always in an endearing way and never in abbreviated form. Had to use David's
link to switch the light on.
"If it were lush and rich, one could understand the pull, but it is fierce and hostile and sullen.
The stone mountains pile up to the sky and there is little fresh water. But we know we must go back
