American Pie

OK, so this really doesn't have anything to do with Baja, but for some of us older Baja travelers who listen to his 8 track cassettes while driving in Baja (OK, mentioned Baja 4 times now), here is your chance to see Don:

In February 2015, McLean announced he would reveal the meaning of the lyrics to the [American Pie] song when the original manuscript goes for auction in New York City in April 2015. The lyrics and notes were auctioned on April 7, and sold for $1.2m. In the sale catalogue notes McLean revealed the meaning in the song's lyrics "Basically in American Pie things are heading in the wrong direction. ... It [life] is becoming less idyllic. I don't know whether you consider that wrong or right but it is a morality song in a sense." The catalog did confirm some of the better known references in the song's lyrics, including mentions of Elvis Presley (referred to in the lyrics as "the king,"), Bob Dylan (the jester), and the death of Meredith Hunter at the Altamont Free Concert (most of the fifth verse).

Thanks for the memories, Stucksucks!

The video has long been forgotten by me, until you brought it back. I had forgotten that the book of Marx, was Graucho's and not Carl Marx.

I had the convertible as my first ever car.

Time for some more memories and sentimentality...

He's nothing if not consistent.
