The "hotel" mentioned was Ignacio Springs and that it was evacuated ... is what I got from that link. Hope the place is okay!!

We were guests at Ignacio Springs last night. The fire occurred the previous afternoon directly across the lagoon from the resort in the palm trees. Two yurts were damaged and the front of someone's rental car has a melted bumper and headlights. Apparently it was all hands on deck getting the fire out. They had a portable pump in the lagoon and lots of fire hose still on the ground. We enjoyed our overnight stay...first time there. Terri is doing well. We look forward to resting there again.

We were just at Ignacio Springs. They are doing well and expect the fire to be under control but they did say there was the possibility of another evacuation tonight if the flames come back. They give a lot of credit to the fire department.

As often happens with palm fires, it flared back up yesterday when folks thought it was out. Heard a report that two more yurts at Ignacio Springs were damaged, and the the fire burned the carrizo along the river all the way down to the ojo de agua. Big bummer.

Oh and the scuttlebutt is that this may be arson committed by the local pyromaniac :(

I hope it is completely out! Unfortunately, those palm fires in San Ignacio are not that uncommon! I sure hope things are well at Terry and Gary's place
