My friends are missing - FOUND!
*Update - Wed. 9:08 AM PDT. Kyndal and James have contacted her mom and are safe! Thank you!*
My friends Jamie, 44, and Kyndal Dimon, 35, have been camping down the coast of Baja on the Sea of Cortez side in a light brown van; they have two
small dogs with them.
They've been in the La Paz area for at least a couple of weeks and left El Mogote for La Paz to find a mechanic to get some car work done.
They have been checking in frequently and are not known to be off-signal for any length of time without letting family and friends know about it.
No one has heard from them since the morning of March 11th.
If anyone has seen them, please have them contact Kyndal's mom immediately. They have a lot of worried friends and family! While we all hope this is a
fluke, to not hear from them for so long is highly unusual.

Located... Nathan at Playa Buenaventura says they've been there for a couple of days - and is letting them know people are worried about them.

Well nothing could be better than a quick and happy ending. I hope they are having a wonderful time. As a mother of adult children, well worry and
concern is a part of the DNA. Then again, my adult children also become concerned about us old folks.
On edit --- another thought. In so many ways, it is all the fault of the internet. In the old days, we would take off to travel Mexico by bus and
all the relatives knew that we would end up home before the post cards got there and there was little chance they would hear from us while we were
traveling.
I remember once when we were in Palenque and I was a bit homesick and wanted to call home --- but there was a wait of one week to use the only long
distance phone in town. Now, we all expect to hear from loved ones on a VERY regular basis. :-)

So true, DianaT - in this case, the mistake might have been the agreement they made with their mom on when and how often to check in. They are
full-time nomads but have always been in the States where it's easier to find a signal. They'd been in Baja for about a month, keeping to their
agreement, before they went dark. Perhaps returning the responsibility to the ones making the agreements is a good thing to do. I think her mom said
she was grounded for life or something like that

Those agreements can be tricky depending on where one is traveling, and do cause more worry. But since they made that agreement, they will probably
find a way to keep it somehow after they see that their photos and information are all over the internet, as well it should be.
I think I like the old days better when we could just say, see you in month or so.
