Visa at Mexicali east crosing

A friend will be crossing at the Mexicali east crossing Friday and wanted to know if they could pay for the visa in US dollars?

I've used dollars a few years ago at that crossing when I've paid at the bank. Last month they collected at the immigration desk and the officer quoted a $USD price for the FMM. I had already dumped USD from my pocket and had pesos in hand so I asked for the peso price.

I don't recall an ATM there like they have at Tijuana, but the Banjercito is still across the parking lot and I'm mostly positive you could pay USD for the visa at the window if pesos were required at the desk on Friday.
