Secrets to Living Well in Baja Norte (Part II in a Series)

The (VERY) old GE toaster finally died - well, not really in the sense that it didn't work anymore, but the ancient plastic housing cracked apart completely so that the shell stood away from the working parts. It still did the job and seeing the insides working up a bright glow reminded me of visiting diners in the East.

The other team member decided it was a fire hazard and bought a new toaster from WalMart, Rosarito, a Hamilton Beach "Cool Wall" that cost $229.00 MN which translates to $11.00 US.

I looked online and the consumer ratings sites gave it a "7 out of 10".

If I had ordered it by mail, the same toaster, at the best price I could find, would have cost $24.99 plus shipping, handling and what our mail service would have charged for the pickup.
