Thanks Frank,
It was a great turnout at least 40 folks and lots of good questions after the show.
They asked if I would return in a couple months and do if for another group of people who are there in the Spring.

Next Sunday (Jan 15th), 2012 book (The Old Mission of Baja & Alta) co-author (Max Kurillo) and I will be selling books and small mission bells at the Campo de Cahuenga Historical Reenactment ceremony. Right by Universal Studios, Los Angeles.

You need to build a new website for your stuff. Check out squarespace.com. You'd have something 10x more professional in a couple days.

Your site comes off as very 1990's. With a weeks worth of work it would look so much better. Not very expensive either.

Which site, VivaBaja?
It is merely a place where people can get Baja trip ideas and history. It is not much of a commercial site and only my book is shown there for sale.
Maybe, someday, it will get a facelift? VivaBaja has been online for 17 years but, who knows how long before some other type of media will replace websites, like Facebook or ??

Just trying to help you out bud. It would take you like 2-3 days to make it 10x better. I thought you'd care as much as you pimp it on here.

Pimp it?
Sorry, you don't know me.
My site is free info to help others. I have given a lot of travel details to you but would not say you pimped me for it.
Giving is what counts, at least to me.
Have a good trip.
David

Weak! If you really were trying to "help" David, you would have used private messaging

Sorry bud, you do pimp yourself like a mofo on here. I've been on a long time and witnessed it all.

Btw, I love the "Historian and Author" after your name. That's kinda what made me take a look at your site. I've published 3 books and never put "author" after my name, ever.

Neither have I, but am honored if someone else has felt compelled to add titles after my name.

If you write a book, article, or report, you are an author. If you play golf on weekends you are a golfer. If you do engage in any form of fishing you are a fisherman.
Of course there are various levels of expertise for all of these and many more.
I personally think DK's Baja knowledge sharing and writings more than qualify him as an author.

Before my Saturday evening lecture, a professional video photographer asked to make a short 'commercial' for my book and perhaps Baja tours.

We filmed it just east of Borrego Springs while we still had enough light. It was fun and interesting to see how this sort of thing was done.

The photographer has been working on desert projects and learned about me and offered to create this video and perhaps more to tell some of the interesting history stories of Baja.

So, he just sent this cut tonight, what do you think? Does it make you want to get my book or follow me down the peninsula?

>>>
https://youtu.be/sk9u3sD99P0

There are also two other cuts with minor differences on his account.
I convinced him he needs to come to Baja to film there!

Thanks, Tom. Yes, he does a good job and is fast at editing. He is Robert Marcos who recently worked on a show about the Lost Ship of the Desert for one of those shows on Discovery Chanel or ?? He is a friend of my Baja Extreme tour passenger, Pat.

LOL, right?! Font's Point is a nice place. Borrego is the closest thing we have to a Baja desert without crossing the border and this filming thing was just arranged for me the day before my Borrego Springs lecture, so we just combined the two into one trip.

The cinematographer wants to shoot stuff in Baja, so you will see boojum trees in the background someday! :light:
