Valentine dinner at Palmazul

My sweety surprised me with a quick trip to Tijuana for dinner!!

Herradura margaritas rocks with salt.
Sea urchin shooter with oyster & caviar.
Abalone Cristina with mustard sauce.
Arugula salad with walnuts, pear and cilantro dressing.
Garlic lemon lobster with grilled vegetable and wild rice.
Grouper grilled and topped with muscles in a saffron sauce.
Monte Xanic Cabernet.
No room for dessert! Maybe next time!

The place was PACKED!

My best regards to you and your sweetie for having fun with what sounds like a terrific Valentines dinner.

We haven't had the opportunity to check out Palmazul yet, but I appreciate the reports, they really whet my apppetite!

I am looking forward to a visit, very soon!

Will you stop already--I'm on a diet and I will just have to stop reading your posts because one way or another they are all about breaking my diet.

DanO

It was even better than it sounds! We both had two! If you have not yet tried Palmazul, you should!

Bernie

Sorry about that whole diet thing and best of luck! We had not been across the border since turkey day and I think the wife got tired of my whining and surprised me! Today I think I will start complaining about the lack of good carne asada tacos in our hood and maybe she will take me to Yaqui tacos this weekend!!

Gato, I am all over that, as soon as I can get there. BTW Bernie, the combination of sea urchin, oysters and caviar is high in protein and low in carbs and saturated fat. As my old man used to say, why suffer?

The 'caviar' was the color one would get if one was to soak masago in shoyu? It was tasty.

The reason I asked was because we had a similar sounding item at the sushi bar in Ensenada on Valentines day. It is the one that is across from Papas and Beer. Normally sushi caviar is smelt roe. This I would have to call caviar because it was browner, saltier, and crunchier. Very good stuff.
