Visit to the La Bocana Middle School

We are headed to Europe for 4 months and it will be an extensive vacation: Poland to Greece and then back to Poland BY CAR. I want all the local kids to follow the adventure so yesterday I visited the middle school to tell them all about the plans!

I went to the 8th grade first. One kid is holding a huge book of atlas maps in which the major towns we will stay at are circled. Their teacher is on the far right, and they are all are holding the pencils I handed out for children's day. I also gave them construction paper for art projects.

Here are the 9th graders. I gave them magazines and pencils.

Some of them were busy in another corner.

Here is the class library with the bookshelves that Les and I donated and the books that some of you all donated. I do want to get them more....these kids love to read.

Here is a photo of the school. Four rooms - the principal's office and three classrooms.

It used to be that the school had not one plant on the premises and I offered to share some of my cacti. Well, all I can say is that the middle school has outdone itself! There are plants and flowers and trees galore now....it is one of the prettiest schools around.

Lastly, here is the cactus garden that started this greening of the desert at the middle school so many years ago.
