Tropical Storm Narda
Yet another storm that has the extremely rare chance of going straight up the Sea of Cortez. In the basic research I conducted during the life of
Lorena, it appeared that well less than 1% of all Eastern Pacific hurricanes actually "threaded the needle" and entered the Sea without passing over
the Baja Peninsula first. This was based on plotted hurricane paths from 1851 to some year in the 2000s that I cant recall.
Be aware.

Hurricane John was a big, bad Boy. Slammed the East Cape! Forget the year. Lorena was only a TS w/strong winds but light damage. Who here
remembers John? Juliette crashed into Pescadero w/lots of flooding and mountain rain in 2001. I was here. Happily was absent for Odile!

I remember when 'BajaBus' (Max) remained online during the 2001(?) hurricane, from La Cocina Pacifica in Elias Calles and that was an amazing post!

Seems like 05 or 06 for John. Had the arroyo go across the corner of my previous lot.

The Hurricane John (there have been several) that affected Baja in this millennium was in 2006. It was one of the few that actually was spawned in the
Atlantic, crossed the isthmus area of Mexico and impacted Baja, but IT WAS NOT A NEEDLE THREADER. It did impact land near the East Cape, La Paz and
clearly, the Mulege area.
So, how is the system of pools to alleviate flooding, up the "Rio" Mulege? Has it been tested yet?

I don't think those "pools" were ever finished were they? I drove up there after the equipment left, it didn't look like much...

Odile took care of those pretty much. Had pictures of what was done at one time but do not know where they are.
Also Lydia and Newton in 16 and 17 finished them off.

Well, let's hope they didnt just loosen up a bunch more soil for an even greater mud flow.
